A school library system, from the online catalog to book lending.
About the Project
The library at SMP Negeri 2 Pracimantoro in Wonogiri used to record books and loans by hand. The school needed a system that made it easier for librarians to serve students and report to the head librarian and principal.
We built a web-based library information system with several user roles, each with its own pages and permissions.
Key Features
- Online catalog: Students and teachers search books by title or author, with covers and shelf locations.
- Lending: Librarians record loans and returns, and members can see their current loans and history.
- Book requests and receiving: Librarians propose new books, the principal approves them, and received books go straight into the catalog.
- Card and label printing: Member cards and book labels are printed from the system.
- Master data: Manage members by class, books, authors, publishers, classifications, and shelves, including importing student data from Excel.
- Guest book and dashboard: Visitors fill in a guest book, and the dashboard charts loans and visits.
Outcome
Librarians serve loans faster, students find books on their own through the catalog, and the principal follows library activity and approves book requests in the same system.
